Church Archives
Although the parish registers for births, deaths and marriages have been sent to the Lincoln Archive office as required by law, All Saints is lucky that an astonishing number of paper archives are still held in the 'parish box'. Work to catalogue these records was started some years ago by a member of the Winterton History Group. Now the church is completing the job so that it will be possible to access this fascinating information.
If you happen to have any materials [photos, letters, orders of service, programmes etc] which relate to the All Saints and you would be happy to give them to us or let us copy them, please do let us know.
More information about the archives will appear on our website as time permits. Some of the pages in this Heritage section have been based on the archive information found to date.
Parish magazines from the past
Did you know that the first All Saints Winterton Parish Magazine in the church archives is dated January 1901? We have recently been checking through the magazine archive and, while we have an amazingly large number of past copies, there are sizeable gaps in the record between 1901 and 2010.
We are currently building up the 'story' of our church and these old magazines tell us a huge amount about what was going on in years past. We hope that somewhere in our community there may be old copies stored or hidden away which can be retrieved and added to the All Saints archive.
Please see the list below which shows all the missing months and years. If you know of the whereabouts of any of these missing copies please do contact us via the form below. We will be delighted to fill in these gaps. If you do not wish to part with the original copy, please let us photocopy your magazine so that we still have a record.
