St. Andrew's Church, Dowsby
Dowsby is the southern most village in our group of parishes, and also the smallest.
The church is situated in a pretty churchyard in open countryside, on ground that rises gently to the west from the B1177 road. The church itself is basically medieval, though it was inevitably restored in Victorian times. Fortunately everything blends happily together and produces a delightful example of the smaller parish church.
The church is Grade 11 listed. It was saved from dereliction by the last vicar, who ensured that roof, windows, wiring etc were all mended or replaced.
