There is only one way out of Withcall, and that is the way you came, so you will eventually find the Church. It is open daily and beautifully situated in the Lincolnshire Wolds.
Our patron Saint Martin of Tours is well-represented in and around the Church. He was a Roman soldier who converted to Christianity and renounced his military service to enter the service of the church ,eventually becoming bishop. He is best known for the account of his using his military sword to cut his cloak in two, to give half to a beggar clad only in rags in the depth of winter.
St Martin, pray for us!
The church is nestled within a secluded fold of the Lincolnshire Wolds. As well as offering beautiful views of surrounding farmland, the visitor can find inside a display and stained glass dedicated to our patron, St Martin; information about a nearby plane crash of two RAF Mosquitos returning from Operation Market Garden (Arnhem); information about Emily Tennyson, mother of the great poet, who was baptized here, where he father was rector
