Horbling and Billingborough Explorer Scout Unit Sleepover at the Church.

We were pleased to welcome Horbling and Billingborough Explorer Scout Unit to the church for a sleepover last Friday 8th November.

Helen Robinson, their leader wrote the following:

Thank you very much on behalf of all the Horbling and Billingborough Explorer Scout Unit for allowing us to stay in our wonderful church. What a truly beautiful place it is inside and out.

We all had a relaxed Friday evening. The children walked to the chip shop and ordered and purchased their own supper. They returned to the church, enjoyed their food and then set up a projector to watch a film together. This took us to 11pm and I was happy that they were ready for bed.

This morning, we started work at 8.30am having enjoyed crumpets, croissants and/or cereal. The Explorers have cleaned the front gates, swept the pathways and cleared the gully’s around the church. Hopefully the water will run more freely now.  Inside they have swept the pews and aisles, cleaned the alter and surrounding area and hopefully reassembled everything how we found it.

Below are some pictures of the evening and of all the work the group have done. Many thanks to them for all their hard work.
