Over three weekends in February St Mary's hosted visitors from near and far to enjoy the snowdrops in the wooded area adjacent to the churchyard. Although the weather varied between being sunny and inclement, nothing dampened the spirits of those who came to enjoy the flowers and a nice cup of tea and homemade cake in church afterwards.

An interesting historical note:
The wooded area adjacent to the churchyard has, for a long time, been known as the "Nut Walk". Amongst the parish records the following note was foound in a parish magazine article dating from 2010, which explains some of the origins of this lovely area:
