April 2015 sees the launch of the first of our Developing Discipleship Programmes which will take place in the Stickney Cluster. The programme will encourage us to think strategically about our context and our mission as we look to live out our kingdom values in the world.

The Programme starts on Sunday April 19 when Bishop David Court, Bishop of Grimsby, will preach and preside at our Cluster service. We will then have a series of events designed to help us look at our Vocation, our Values and our Vision, before celebrating the development of our action plan at our All Age Worship on July 5.

Other Developing Discipleship Programmes are being planned for the future.

Holy Week this year has provided several opportunities to explore the Easter story with fresh eyes - through prayer & meditation, music and art, and even with the help of the Taiko Drums - unusual but effective.

Our Confirmation Service will take place in St James' Spilsby at 10.00am on May 31 with Bishop David Rossdale.  Candidates are working through the initial Pilgrim Follow course, which explores the promises which were made on our behalf at Baptism.

Mission is what we do in the world, where we connect with other people and reveal something of God through our lives.

Our daily lives bring us into contact with several schools and care homes in the Deanery. At Stickney Primary School, a full day was spent Experiencing Easter Outside (thankfully it was a beautiful day) with brazier, cross and empty tomb.

The Beacon School in Ghana has been our overseas focus throughout Lent. Closer to home, Centrepoint, Boston has received a number of food items to assist their work.
