A SERVICE OF REMEMBERING, RECOGNITION AND RENEWAL

On Sunday 17th October at 6pm St Guthlac's Church will be  holding a service to remember those who have died or are still suffering due to covid, as well as recognising the great work of key workers and volunteers and including a re-commitment to continue with the good things that have come out of the past 18 plus months.

 ST GUTHLAC'S  NEW VISION STATEMENT:

Reaching out in love, growing in faith, welcoming all.

Reaching out in love- God loves his people and we aim to share this by supporting others in various ways practically, pastorally and spiritiually

Growing in faith - We are a growing church, both in terms of people who come to the church for  worship or as part of one of our groups, and in terms of encouraging and supporing people's individual faith and relationship with God to develop, deepen and grow.

Welcoming all- Following the example Jesus, we welcome everyone to experince the love of God, whatever your background, identity or personal situation.

As a Church we are seeking to share the love of God, along with the hope & joy which flow from this, through our worship, prayer & action. As it says in 1 Corinthains 13.13: ‘These three things continue forever: faith, hope, & love. And the greatest of these is love.'

 Mission Action Plan

In line with our new vision statement, we have released a Mission Action Plan highlighting some of the areas we are focusing on developing over the next few years. Please read it Here

Stewardship in the Church

Stewardship is about taking care of what has been entrusted to us. We are called to exercise responsible stewardship towards our world, one another and the Church. We can help take care of these in various ways, such as giving our time, offering a resource or skill, or donating financially.

Recently we have been thinking about God's amazing world and our responsibility towards it and about how we can best support one another. We are now considering how we can be good stewards of the Church and how we share our gifts from God to care for others, our community and the world, through the Churches ministry.

Please read this Stewardship article  for more information and our Stewardship leaflet for details about the churches current financial situation.
We are inviting everyone to please kindly consider what you can offer to enable our ministry and mission to develop and flourish; your prayerful offering of your time, talents or resources to help us continue to bring God's love to the local community. Please consider filling in a Pledge Form  and bringing to our 10am Service on 7th November, or leaving in the church. We can only fulfil our bold vision for the future because of your support. Thank you.
