After yesterday's service at St. Peter's Church Woodhall Spa, over 30 people joined us for a meal at St Peter's Hall. A big thank you to all who came and to Shirley Dray and all the team who helped prepare the hall and the food. The meal went down very well and raised funds for St. Peter's Church.

Following on from the growing success of the Big Get Togther, our next one is already in the diary! Join us at The Mall on Station Road in Woodhall Spa on Monday 23rd April from 11am for coffee and a chat with friends. Why not bring a friend too? All welcome!

The flower arranging team at St. Peter's Woodhall have been very busy creating some great Easter floral displays. Why not pop in to have a look - the church is open daily. There's also the 8am and 10.45am Easter Communion services on Easter Sunday.

St. Peter's Church at Woodhall Spa are holding a special concert during the Woodhall Spa 1940's Festival (Saturday 7th / Sunday 8th July).
Banovallum Brass are returning for an evening of wartime music in their show "Keep Smiling Through". Tickets are just £5 for adults and £3.50 for under 16's. They're available from the Book Fayre on The Broadway in Woodhall Spa, from the Cottage Museum in Woodhall (which will be open 12.30-4.30pm from Good Friday) and also from Churchwarden Andy Price on 01526 388436 - or alternatively email bucknallPCC@aol.co.uk. Proceeds for the event are going to the Woodhall Spa Group of Churches Community Access Defibrillator Fund which will help provide and support community defibrillators across our group.

Stixwould P.C.C. has recently adopted the telephone kiosk in the village from B.T. The plan is to have it renovated by being shot blasted (which will involve it being removed temporarily) and then it can be re-painted and look as good as new!
The 'K6' style kiosk - first introduced in the UK in 1935 - has been caught in time as it was due to be removed at any time due to lack of use.
The P.C.C. is working with charity Community Heatbeat to hopefully install a life-saving public-access defibrillator in the kiosk once it has been refurbished and BT remove the phone. We are hoping to obtain National Lottery funding from the Awards for All programme.
Once completed, the kiosk wil also have local information inside and other information. Free training will be provided in due course! We will keep you updated with the progress.
How it looks now                        How it will hopefully look!

Last Thursday was Stixwould Churchwarden and Lay Minister Bill Radley's 88th Birthday. Although his health can occasionally restrict him, he won't let it beat him - he truly is a remarkable man. Anyone who has met Bill will agree that he is one of a special kind and we're so lucky to know him!
Bill's Birthday Bash was held at Time Away on Friday 23rd February. Thanks to Graham and Val, Kathyn Butters and all who came to wish Bill a Happy Birthday.
Happy Birthday Bill!

Concert Poster

On the evening of the 16th and into the early hours of the 17th May 1943, 133 men from the RAF's 617 Squadron took off in 19 Avro Lancaster bombers destined for the German dams in the Ruhr valley. 56 men never came home.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Operation Chastise and with Woodhall Spa's connections to the squadron, our Group of Churches wanted to remember the brave men of 617 Squadron and Bomber Command.

On Wednesday 16th May 2018 we're holding an evening of music at St. Peter's Church in Woodhall Spa with the fantastic Banovallum Brass performing. Doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm

Tickets are £5 for adults and £3.50 for under 16's. They're available from Andrew Price on 01526 388436 or email . They're also available from Janet's Tearooms on Station Road in Woodhall Spa. Funds raised will go to the International Bomber Command Centre at Lincoln.
