You've guessed it ! That time of year again!
Our ANNUAL FLAG DAY took place on Saturday 10th April from 9.00am to 3.00pm.
Yes ! Yes! Yes! I hear you say ,"You are looking for 18 volunteers to give one hour of their time to ‘rattle a box' in our main shopping area!"
Correct! Also, as you know, I volunteer is better than 10 pressed men - or women! I'm counting on you, as are the youngsters we help.
In 2009 there was doom and gloom; phrases like "the credit crunch" and "recession".
Our faithful volunteers thought they hadn't done as well as previous years, their boxes weren't so full. Aladdin tried to cheer them up, and hey, bingo! When we emptied all the boxes it was our 2nd. best year since we started the street collection in 1991! A staggering £ 597-08 . Dare we hope to go over the £600.00 mark this year?
With the generous support of visitors and residents in the Spa we'll do our best.
