The Saxonwell Group of Parishes and the Claypole Group joined together in 2011 to form the West Loveden Group of Parishes.
The four villages comprising the Saxonwell Group of Parishes are contained within an area of approximately 12 square miles. Long Bennington and Foston are on one side of the A1 with Allington and Sedgebrook on the other side.
Long Bennington and Foston had been a joint benefice for some time when in 1996, Allington and Sedgebrook joined them to form the Saxonwell Group; Allington and Sedgebrook previously being a joint benefice with Woolsthorpe by Belvoir.
