Looking back to our Advent lunch 2011 and forward to advent 2012!
Ann Williams, (Church warden, St Martin's Church, Kirmond Le Mire) and Linda, our Parish Nurse, organised an Advent Lunch on Thursday 15th December to which we invited Jamie's singers to sing -you may recall reading the rhyming advertising?
All men and women come and share
A seasonal lunch at Willingham Fayre

We are pleased to record that 22 folk joined us and the following comments capture a ‘flavour of' how the event went.
Comments from: Paula & Peter Starling, Mary & Artie Hawbrook (St Mary's Church, Walesby)
We all had a lovely time at the Willingham Fayre lunch. It was so nice to meet up with friends and begin to enjoy the Christmas spirit with a good round of seasonal carol singing. The food was excellent and proved to be extremely good value for money; two generous sized courses of tasty homemade food followed by tea or coffee and home made mince pies. The venue was ideal. Warm, comfortable and with panoramic views of our beautiful Lincolnshire countryside. What a lovely start to the Christmas season.
David & Liz Speirs (All Saints Church, Tealby)
The lunch was a wonderful event, the atmosphere was just what was wanted for such an occasion. Willingham Fayre was an ideal venue and the food a real treat. The carol singing and the poetry reading just added to the atmosphere. We hope that Helen Haigh's (the proprietor ) invitation to repeat the event next December 2012 will be accepted!
Another comment; ‘It was so lovely to meet up with friends I hadn't seen for months.'
People came from several other churches within the Walesby Group including St Michael and All Angels, Brookenby, St Martin's Kirmond Le Mire and St Thomas' North Willingham.
This year we shall advertise earlier so watch out look out for this in future editions of the Wold Witness and the weekly news sheet also we are giving lots of notice to Glenys (Haigh) so she can bake us more of her delicious, wonderful mince pies!
Happy New Year
Ann Williams, Linda and Jamie Mackay
