St Giles: Consistently there for all, making everyone welcome!

Welcome churchtower

Our church was originally built in 1724 by Lincoln Council for its own civic services. It was by the Guildhall and was called St Peter at Arches. It had a fine organ (enlarged by the Cathedral organ builder, Father Willis,in 19th Century) and 8 bells of 1728. In the early 20th Century it was in the way of urban development and due to be demolished. Instead it was literally moved uphill with its organ, bells, furnishing and all, to serve the new St. Giles estate. Later its fine church halls were built - to serve the community.
