9th December 2018: 2nd Sunday of Advent
Preacher: Nigel Bacon; Intercessor: Jim Pringle

Welcome to our celebrant Revd Julie Willingham.

Exciting Update: At our All Age Eucharist on Sunday 23rd December, Bishop Christopher of Lincoln will bring with him Bishop Rob, newly retired from New South Wales, Australia, whom he will license as an Assistant Bishop for the diocese. Join us to extend a warm welcome to them both.

Advent Course: The second session takes place tomorrow afternoon in Church, at 2pm. Kate and Anne lead us in reflections on the themes present in the Advent hymns we sing each year: all welcome.

Organ Fundraising

Stained Glass Windows: A booklet on our beautiful windows and the people to whom they are dedicated is hot off the press and on sale today! Based on articles which appeared in the magazine 2016/2017 it is very well produced and a bargain at £2.50.

For the New Year - Jazz Breakfast: A local jazz group, Deeping Dixielanders, will be playing in the Green School from 10am to 12noon on Saturday 2nd February. Enjoy their relaxing music over a continental breakfast and hot beverage while you read your paper (or comic for the younger set). Tickets on sale soon, £10 adults, £2.50 children.

Santa Stroll: The best fun to be had on the Sunday before Christmas? Taking part in our Santa Stroll of course - an amble round the town starting and ending at church dressed in a Santa Suit! Application forms at the back - £10 adults, £5 children, £25 family of four. For the Organ and the Mayor's charity.

Sponsored Carol Singing in Church: Great fun was had by everyone who sang! So far, £300+ has been handed in. If you sponsored a singer, please be sure to seek them out to hand over your money so we know the final total quickly. Didn't sing or sponsor? Simply give a donation. Thanks.

Patchwork Quilts: Photos of the quilts created by Anne Sargeson which were not sold at the Coffee Morning are on display at the back of church; we will report the takings next week; thanks to all who came.

Bell Ringing: A local band of ringers will be ringing a peal - three hours non-stop ringing - on Friday 28th December from 9.30am. Please let anyone you know who lives in the vicinity of church. Thanks.

Lesson Readers: There are some gaps on the rota. If you'd like to join it or are currently on it and prepared to fill more slots, please speak to Kate.

Church is open each day. Please come in to be still in God's presence, to pray or explore the building.
