The Ladies Guild
This group was formed in 1963 and is a social group which, whilst affiliated to St Guthlac's Church, is ecumenical
and open to all ladies. Meetings, held on the fourth Tuesday of each month from September through to June each year, remain a friendly gathering with speakers and visits. Any funds raised are used to support Church projects and the Green School where the meetings are held.
Meetings in the Green School, Church Street (opposite the Church), usually commence at 8.00 p.m. Members pay a very modest annual subscription. Visitors and guests are always welcome to attend, for which a small charge is made on the evening.
Traditionally the September meeting is a short service in Church, followed by a very fun packed fund-raiser - an auction or a bring and buy.
The January meeting is a meal out at a local hostelry and June sees us inviting guests to join us for our annual ‘outing'. The remainder of the meetings are illustrated talks, demonstrations or occasionally a local visit.
All meetings begin at 8.00 pm unless stated otherwise
