Town Centre Chaplaincy...

This initiative is now on hold for the time being. April 2012.

(Tuesday, 6 September 2011 saw the official launch of an ecumenical
Town Centre Chaplaincy for those who serve in our local shops, offices and businesses. Invited guests enjoyed a buffet lunch at Hope House
in Mablethorpe, and we are now distributing a laminated notice offering further information to all of our local businesses. If you require further information, please call our Co-ordinator, Liz Lilley, on 01507 440 039.)

A huge thank you to all who contributed to the Patronal Festival and Bread Festival at St Peter's Church over the weekend of 2/3 July 2011. The flowers were beautiful and the bread from Gray & Goodliffe Bakery in Trusthorpe was a delight (the smell was amazing on the Saturday morning!). As well as welcoming visitors across the weekend, we enjoyed a Songs of Praise service on Saturday evening, in which we celebrated and reflected on the powerful use of bread-based imagery in the Bible.

The Mablethorpe Men's Breakfast
We have been delighted with the response to the first four Mablethorpe Men's Breakfast events. The photograph shown below was taken at the first event back in January 2010, when our guest speaker was The Right Revd David Rossdale, The Bishop of Grimsby. At the second event, held in March, we were delighted to welcome David Playle; for our third meeting we enjoyed the company of Dr Peter Atkins of Churches Together in All Lincolnshire; and for our most recent gathering we welcomed Mark Rowe, Pastor of Alford Community Church. Please keep checking back here for news of the Fifth Mablethorpe Men's Breakfast... details coming soon!
