The Mablethorpe and Sutton Groups of Parishes

A warm welcome awaits at each of the five churches in the Mablethorpe and Sutton Groups...

This page and the 'What's On' section offer an initial taste of some of our regular activities and services, both in the churches and their local communities. Please get in touch with us via the 'Contact Us' link if you would like some further information or if you have any queries. We will be very pleased to hear from you and to respond to your queries...

St Mary's in December 2009

St Mary's Church, Mablethorpe (above) has a congregation of around 60 on Sunday mornings, and approximately 20 people gather for the Eucharist on Thursday mornings.

We also offer Messy Church (art and craft activities, followed by a brief act of worship) for all ages on the last Saturday of each month (from 2.30-4pm in St Mary's Church Hall, which is on George St in the centre of Mablethorpe).

In addition, we meet in The Parlour (which is to the rear of the Hall) for Morning Prayer (Mondays), a weekly Bible Study (Monday afternoons) and a monthly Bereavement Support Group.

Meanwhile, on Monday and Friday mornings (10am-12noon) The Parlour is also host to The Open Circle of Friends (the 'Community Links' page has more information on The Open Circle of Friends).

St Peter's in December 2009

St Peter's Church, Trusthorpe (above) is a beautiful church and has a congregation of approximately 20 on Sunday mornings. We also meet for a Eucharist service (Book of Common Prayer) on Tuesday mornings.

St Clement's in December 2009

The benefice known as the Sutton Group consists of three parishes:
St Clement's (Sutton-on-Sea)
(above), St Margaret's (Huttoft) (below) and St Andrew's (Anderby) (shown at the foot of this page).

St Clement's is a Grade II-listed building and, as well as our Sunday services, there is a Eucharist at St Clement's on Wednesday mornings.

St Margaret's in Huttoft is an impressive Grade I-listed building and is regarded as the subject of John Betjeman's 'A Lincolnshire Church'.

St Andrew's in Anderby dates from 1759, was extensively restored in 1887, and also features some impressive examples of stained glass.
