The Church of England in the Sleaford Area of the Diocese of Lincoln
Welcome
Lafford Deanery is one of 22 deaneries that comprise the Diocese of Lincoln. It covers an area of about 200 square miles of largely agricultural countryside to the south of Llincoln. Sleaford is the only town of any size. The deanery’s 46 churches serve an adult population of approximately 36,000. Two-thirds of the population are based in Sleaford and the immediately adjacent villages; the remainder are distributed between rural parishes many of which are relatively sparsely populated. Sleaford is part of the North Kesteven District Council that is amongst the areas of fastest growth in the European Union.
