A HEART FOR MISSION AT THE HEART OF LINCOLNSHIRE
Horncastle Deanery is situated in the heart of Lincolnshire. We seek to have a heart for mission, inspired by the example of Jesus who shows us that love for human-kind is at the very heart of God.
We consist of seven benefices (groupings of parishes)in the following areas:
Horncastle; Asterby and Hemingby; Woodhall Spa; Bardney; Coningsby and Tattershall;
Mareham Le Fen; Wragby. There are 54 churches in all.
We are privileged to be situated in a breathtakingly beautiful location that encompasses historic fen country, the upland Wolds area of Outstanding Natural Beauty,and Lincolnshire Limewoods Reserve - the largest area of ancient small-leafed Lime woodland in the country. Barn owls and hares are regularly seen; spring is heralded by the song of cuckoo and nightingale.
Although rural, there are good local ameneties and excellent communications to Lincoln and the sandy coast.
